As part of its ongoing work with local organisations, Porto Montenegro has helped finance lighting (to the value of 2,000 euros) for the Music School in Tivat. The recent design project undertaken by the school did not include much-needed lighting for their concert hall. This has made events such as concerts and meetings difficult for the school to arrange. Porto Montenegro has worked with the school administration department to financially support this project.
"This November, our music school will celebrate its 5oth anniversary after many years of hard work and dedication. I am pleased that PM has recognized the importance of this task. To have adequate lighting will certainly enable us to change the quality of our music programme,’’ said the school’s headmaster, Pina Bubanja.
This year, the music school has 328 students in total. 17 of these are high school students playing wind instruments and piano and a further 311 students are in elementary music education. Fantastic results arrive at the school almost daily. Students have exceled in national and international competitions, as well as a number of international collaborations with schools in Sweden and Norway.
