New Wine & Dine Package will celebrate national flavours
Regent Porto Montenegro has partnered exclusively with Montenegrin vineyards to create an unforgettable experience for food and wine lovers. Working with Castel Savina and Plantaze Winery Estates, this four day and three night experience will educate guests on Montenegrin and regional wine varieties and will introduce them to local selections.
Over the course of four days and three nights, guests will be educated on Montenegrin and regional varieties while indulging in gourmet meats, cheese and small plates. The program commences with a three course dinner and wine pairing in the grand Regent Dining Room where a selection of three regional wines will be served alongside an indulgent dinner.
The second day includes a tour of the boutique family-run winery Castel Savina. Spanning just two hectares, this vineyard produces up to 20,000 bottles per year of white, rosé and red wine. Predominately international grape varietals include Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Chardonnay and one indigenous grape - Zizak, a fabulous dessert wine. After guests explore the large, impeccably kept vineyard, they will be treated to a tasting of four wines from Savina and some light tapas on the stone terrace with unrivaled views of the Boka Bay and the splendor of blue Adriatic Sea.
Once back at the hotel, guests can spend the evening cozied up to the fireplace in Regent’s Library Bar for another tasting of 5 premium regional wines with a decadent cheese and meat platter.
On the third day, guests will tour the Plantaze Winery Estate. The largest vineyard in one complex in Europe, this expansive vineyard spans 2,310 hectares and boasts 26 grape varietals. This state-owned company prides itself with having the second highest exported product in the Montenegrin economy and over 1,000 accolades since opening in 1963. The visit will include a tour of the largest vineyard in Europe, the Cemovsko polje, and a look inside the historic Sipcanik cellar which was a former military airbase, as well as a wine tasting of six premium labels, including three white and three red wines and a platter of traditional Montenegrin prosciutto, cheese and olives.
The expert sommelier will lead the way throughout the dynamic story of the Plantaze wines starting with the bubbly wine “Crnogorski Val”, over white crispy “Crnogorski Krstac” to “Pro Anima Pinot Blanc 2014”. Highlighting the reds, guests will delight in “Vranac Pro Corde”, characterful “Vladika” and “Vranac Reserve”.
