Adriatic Marinas d.o.o / Porto Montenegro has won the Annual Social Responsibility Award from the Montenegrin Federation of Employers in the Community Care by Large Enterprises category. The Mayor of Tivat, Mr. Ivan Novosel, presented the award to Porto Montenegro’s PR Manager Danilo Kalezic. The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility project, named Uplifting the Community: Together for Education, was focused on improving the conditions in Tivat’s educational institutions. The Federation of Employers declared it a leading example of a comprehensive CSR initiative.
Uplifting the Community was launched in early 2014 and involves employees being given a paid day off from work to contribute to the local community projects organized and financed by the Adriatic Marinas.
“This year we focused on working with local educational institutions because we wanted to contribute to knowledge development in our youngest citizens while also improving the working conditions for both teachers and their students” stated Danilo Kalezic at the awards ceremony held at the Capital Plaza in Podgorica. “I would like to use this opportunity to invite other investors to follow the example of our own CSR practices in order to improve working conditions, education and the general quality of life of the communities around us”.
As part of the Uplifting the Community: Together for Education, employees of Adriatic Marinas renovated the entire interior of the Drago Milovic Elementary School in Donja Lastva, as well as the music lab in the Central elementary school, modernized the chemistry and physics classrooms at the local High school and donated both IT equipment and an e-learning system to the Faculty of Business Studies in Tivat.
