The Superyacht Rendezvous Montenegro Revival – Luxury Yacht Events

After a six-year hiatus, the Superyacht Rendezvous Montenegro made a triumphant return  from 27th to 30th July 2023. The event, set against the UNESCO-protected Bay of Kotor, also coincided with the inaugural Rubix Festiva at Porto Montenegro, a blend of art, culture, performance and music.

The rendezvous began at the newly launched MayaBay restaurant with an Ocean Conservation Dinner in association with Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Attendees explored the newly expanded retail village, attended interactive workshops as part of the Rubix programming and enjoyed a cocktail reception on the superyacht Jetty 1. 

The next day featured a refreshing dip at the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club‘s Buddha-Bar Beach pool and an exclusive tour of the nearby Adriatic42 shipyard. In the evening, Rubix festival delivered the magic with concerts by British electronica group, Morcheeba, and pianist, Francesco Tristano.

The closing day of the event wrapped up with downtime poolside at the Yacht Club and boat trips around the Boka Bay, with evening DJ sets closing the festival on a high note. Superyachts over  40 metres LOA were offered unique incentives for berthing in the marina.

The Crew Awards - Exclusive Yacht Events

The ACREW Crew Honors 2023 held at  Porto Montenegro from 20th to 22nd  October, has emerged as a regular feature in the Superyacht industry. 

This edition came with an ‘Old Hollywood’ theme and gathered over 500 yachting professionals, with an esteemed panel of 19 industry-leading judges at the helm. 

This event, unlike the yacht shows in Monaco and Cannes that focus on owners and their yachts, places all the emphasis on the role of the Superyacht professionals, crews and staff who make it all happen in the background.

Charity regattas - Yacht club events

In the sparkling waters of Montenegro, yacht club event regattas, stand out as the highlights of the calendar, particularly in tourist hotspots like Porto Montenegro in the Tivat municipality. 

The allure of this luxurious locale isn’t just its breathtaking marina but the yacht club renowned for its legacy of hosting regattas.

Sailing aficionados and visitors alike can immerse themselves in an array of regatta festivities, from the Arsenal Cup (July 15th) and PMYC Regatta (June 17th) to the enthralling Thousand Island Race (September 16 – 24). 

Notably, the Fasinada Cup (July 21 – 22) claims the title of Montenegro’s largest international sailing regatta, welcoming a diverse range of sailing classes. Most of these events, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Bay of Tivat, welcome a wide variety of sailing vessels, emphasising the inclusive spirit of Montenegrin sailing traditions.

This year a charity regatta organised in partnership with One Day Charter and Tahiti for the Red Cross will be held on 30th September,2023.

In recent times, Montenegro, known not only for its corporate yacht events but also for events like the Montenegro yacht week that was held in 2018, has emerged as a hotspot for maritime industry gatherings.

A prime example is the IYT Introductory Sailing Skills Course. This two-day initiative equipped participants with essential crewing skills for vessels up to 15 metres, focusing on operations in coastal waters within 5 miles of the shore during daylight in moderate conditions. 

Ideal for groups of friends or sailing enthusiasts, the course covers pivotal aspects like safety equipment, basic ropework, and anchoring techniques. Participants, aged 10 and above, earn a completion certificate, testifying to their newfound proficiency in the art of sailing. The price for the IYT Introductory Sailing Skills Course starts at 1 150 euros.

Food and Wine Luxury Yacht Events

Yachting in Montenegro isn’t just about the sea; it’s also a gourmet adventure. 

These events seamlessly meld the opulence of yachting with the Mediterranean’s gastronomic traditions. A prime illustration is the SuperWine 10 Programme, held on 3rd July 2023 at the chic Buddha-Bar Beach, in Porto Montenegro. 

This exclusive gathering showcased some of Europe’s finest wineries, offering guests free tastings from 40 distinguished wine producers, each hosting their own dedicated stand. In addition to the exquisite wines, attendees were treated to a gastronomic experience at the Food Corners, featuring Buddha-Bar Beach’s special menu at a promotional price. 

To set the mood, music was provided by Bobby Peru. Those eager to indulge could secure their tickets in advance through Gigstix service in Montenegro or the Wine Drop Club application for Serbian attendees.
