New donation for local Basketball club

Porto Montenegro has been inspired by the continuing success of local basketball club, Teodo, and will continue to support young basketball players from Tivat with a donation of 2.000 euros.

Now in its eighth season, basketball players have shown remarkable results in the Balkan League ─ a competition between seven states and two continents ─ where they have been awarded a commendable sixth place. Teodo have also come third in the Super League and are among the four best teams in the Montenegro Cup.

As Tivat’s most revered sporting team, Teodo hosted the finals of the Montenegro Cup in 2012, an opportunity to really highlight Tivat’s basketball influence.

Head of the club is Misko Lucic who has emphasised that the funds donated from Porto Montenegro will be allocated to the youth department, the Teodo school, and the organisation of the Tivat 2013 Basketball Camp where the most talented basketball players can be selected for the upcoming season.

PM brightens up Bambi Kindergarten

In line with our continued support for the local community Porto Montenegro recently donated EUR 1,200 to Bambi kindergarten. The donation was used to purchase new carpets, curtains and puzzle-shaped lino to create a more colourful and inspiring environment for the children.

The project came about following a meeting with the Parent Council of Tivat who wanted to help turn what was a rather dated environment, into a bright and vibrant space where local children could enjoy their pre-school education.

Ivana Soldat, the Bambi council representative was delighted with the outcome of the renovations, “Thanks to Porto Montenegro for being so open minded regarding ideas for improving our local kindergarten, and their desire to improve the quality of life in Tivat.”

PM continues its support of young tennis talent

This year, Adriatic Marinas will support Tamara Bojanic, an extremely talented player, with a sponsorship award of EUR 4,500.

Tamara has achieved remarkable results on the European circuit. In 2012, she won the title of Individual State Champion, achieving high scores in a number of international tournaments. Tamara is also ranked at 35th position on the European (ETA) ranking list, in the Under 14 category for girls.

The tennis club at Porto Montenegro has been founded by Adriatic Marinas, and is a part of the Tennis Federation of Montenegro. Depending on the weather and season, there are currently 20-30 members of various ages and abilities. Over the forthcoming year, the courts near the Dom Vojske will train many talented children. Amateur tennis players and guests of Porto Montenegro marina and village also visit the tennis club.
