Located adjacent to the existing Regent Porto Montenegro hotel and connected via a private walkway, Regent Pool Club Residences are the latest addition to Porto Montenegro’s residential collection.
These contemporary chic residences were inspired by the Italian Riviera and bring a touch of modern-day glamour to Porto Montenegro’s waterfront. The central courtyard is an oasis of gardens, pools and tranquility, making it the property’s overarching attraction. On the pool deck, a tiered infinity pool takes centre stage, shaded by palms and with soft scents of jasmine, providing a secluded space in which to relax. A separate 25m lap pool — heated for yearround use — is ideal for the more active, whilst children can also enjoy their own space with a
designated splash pool.
Privately connected to the Regent Porto Montenegro, each residence has direct access to all the facilities and services of the five-star hotel. Following a ‘Hotel Condo’ concept, Regent Pool Club Residences offer hassle-free ownership with an onsite management team to take care of all maintenance and rental administration.
Here we interview Jeremy Hayes, Senior Vice President of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo to give us more insight into the design of the residences.
PM: What was the creative inspiration for the design of the RPCR building? Was there a particular part of the world that gave you direction on the design?
JH: The architecture takes inspirations from Boka Bay’s 400 year history and tastefully infuses this historical architectural language with contemporary elements and construction methods to produce elegant, modern residences. The architecture is informed by some of the greatest modern examples of urban beach resorts around the world, adding joie de vivre to the building character.
PM: How would you sum up the overall architectural style / design for this
JH: The building is formed from an infusion of modernist influences together with the Montenegro vernacular. The clean modern lines of the building are complimented with classical motifs and proportions that echo Montenegro’s rich trading history.
PM: What are the main design highlights of the building from an architectural perspective? What are the key distinguishing features that a potential buyer might be interested in?
JH: The residents of RCPR will enjoy tranquil plunge pools, floating terraces and windows that carefully frame spectacular panoramic views over the glistening sea. An elevated pool deck offers a 25 metre lap pool, and 32 metre family pool combined with two exclusive bars and poolside
food service will all be on offer to all residents.
PM: How did you ensure adequate natural light and wherever possible
views of water / nature for so many of the residences?
JH: Internal atriums and fully glazed external walls to the living areas allow brilliant refracted sunlight to flood into the interiors. A multitude of corner apartments benefit from spectacular dual aspect views of Kotor Bay and the marina. Deep terraces allow residents to enjoy external living during the warm summer months.
PM: In what ways will this building be a departure from the previous residential buildings at Porto Montenegro and how does it remain faithful to the architectural precedents set by the existing buildings, if at all?
JH: The new properties form a more efficient and streamlined architectural composition, and pay tribute to the naval heritage of the arsenal and sleek silhouettes of the luxury yachts below. They are clearly the next stage of the destination’s evolution.
PM: Are there any other lifestyle features worth mentioning in particular, such as a large gym or services / amenities that will add to the
experience of living here for a resident?
JH: Critical to a great resort design is the guest experience. As a design team we have considered the use of the residencies by the end user throughout the seasonal cycle. Clearly Porto-Montenegro is an urban resort set within a fabulous marina, however the residents pool deck provides an unexpected, exclusive and joyful alternative from the lively waterfront scene. Facilities include a fitness and wellness centre, direct access to great restaurants, bridge link access to the Regent Hotel and proximity to all local amenities on offer.
