Saint Nikola (Sveti Nikola) is the largest island on the Montenegrin coast, lying 1km off the old town of Budva. Known locally as “Hawaii”, thanks to its rocky beaches, the island is home to the tiny church of St Nicholas – though to be more than 1,000 years old – and a heard of friendly fallow deer. The island is easily reachable by speedboat, or, for the more adventurous, by sea kayak.
