The CSR project of the company Adriatic Marinas - Porto Montenegro Together for the Community in the calendar year 2016 has acquired a new dimension, in the implementation of which special emphasis was placed on support to local educational institutions and scholarships for best students. The total value of scholarships and grants in the community education this year amounted to over 100,000 €.
As representatives of the major private investors in this city, we have been investin in quality education and promoting knowledge through various activities - intellectual capital is the most valuable capital of the local community. The practical success of this project is not "measurable" by the amount that we donate, but demonstrates our satisfaction in the investment in formal and informal education - the biggest benefit that a company can donate to the community in which it operates is to valorize that same knowledge by giving the opportunity so that young local people can get a chance to gain business experience in that same company, said Kristina Škanata, PR coordinator at Porto Montenegro.
Porto Montenegro scholarship in the amount of 25,000 € for the American College RIT Croatia was won by the young student from Tivat, Jovana Ivanović, for studying at the International Hospitality and Service Management in Dubrovnik. Also next year, Porto Montenegro will donate scholarships to a new local talent, as well as continue with Jovana's annual scholarship.
In October this year, Marina Porto Montenegro awarded four scholarships for a total value of 50,000 € for future sailors from Montenegro - Andrej Djokic, Stefani Račić, Marko Jokanović from Tivat, as well as Nikola Laketić from Podgorica, are attending an intensive training which follows the Royal Yachting Association international program. In November, a renovated library of the elementary school Drago Milović was officialy inaugurated. The valuable book collection of the school was enhanced by the new interior and a multi-medial dimension worth 6,000 €, and in December work was completed on a full refurbishment of the Geography classroom in the Secondary Music School Mladost.
