Byblos Lands from Lebanon

Rumours of the imminent arrival of a Lebanese restaurant in Porto Montenegro had become an annual ritual in recent years so it comes as no surprise that the opening of Byblos’s doors this season was met with considerable excitement amongst locals and marina residents alike.

Lebanese cuisine is rightly regarded as a giant of the Middle-Eastern food scene, partly thanks to the legendary Lebanese hospitality but also due to the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and punchy spices. Occupying a prime spot on Venice Square, directly across from the Regent Porto Montenegro, Byblos offers an indoor/outdoor restaurant space as well as a Mezze Lounge. The latter has already proven to be an ideal people-watching spot from which to enjoy a selection of mezze, fruit cocktails and sheesha.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the expert kitchen team were brought over directly from Lebanon, along with various hard to find ingredients to ensure complete authenticity with the food menu. The result is a selection of mezze, marinated meats and grilled fish flavored with aromatic herbs and spices, often accompanied by seasonal organic vegetables. Perfectly complimenting the existing Italian, Adriatic, Japanese and international menu options around the village, Byblos looks set to become a focal point of village life come sundown this summer.
