“Volume II of the International Fashion Festival (IFF) at Porto Montenegro returns to the SYNCHRO from 18th – 20th July. The event, powered by Fabrika, a Belgrade-based agency, brings some of the world’s most prestigious designers and industry-leading fashion brands to the Mediterranean’s leading luxury superyacht marina village and fashion capital of the Adriatic coast.
Opening the three-day spectacle on 18th is the Vertigo Exhibition by Sylvia Giardina whose fashion-art installations, dual identities and visual artistry make him one of fashion’s most recognised personalities. His 2019 spring-summer high-fashion collection was promoted at the Vertigo project for Alta Roma Alta Moda 2019 and privileged guests will have the opportunity to appreciate his masterpieces in an exclusive, invitation-only exhibition the day before the grand festival opening.
Kicking off the main event and marking the official opening of the festival is the fashion show by Lebanese-American designer, Rami Kadi. After a world premiere at Paris Fashion Week, Kadi presents his collection at Porto Montenegro. His high-fashion honours handmade motifs with fine detail and extravagant design. Kadi uses his artistic energy and attention to detail to create unique handmade designs and deliver unforgettable works of high-fashion to a high-profile clientele. As one of fashions most celebrated contemporary designers, Kadi has dressed some of the most famous women on the red carpet, from the Oscars to the Cannes Film Festival with Isabeli Fontana, Katie Perry, Kendal Jenner and Nicole Scherzinger among the list of celebrity clients.
On 19th July, international designer Simonetta Gianfelici brings the “Made in Italy” motto to Montenegro – The Best Who is on Next is a collection led by Gianfelici himself and endorsed by Vogue Italia, with garments by Davide Grillo and Albino Teodoro taking centre stage on the runway. Gianfelici, as the face of prestigious brands such as Dior, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent, brings his 37 years’ experience in the Italian fashion industry to create a striking fashion display inspired by Italia, under the roof of the familiar SYNCHRO open concept venue, which hosted last year’s inaugural IFF in Porto Montenegro.
Luisa Beccaria opens the second evening of the festival on 20th July, exhibiting her 2020 spring-summer collection of romantic, artistic and feminine dresses. Since their debut in the 80s, her fairytale collections have been worn by stars such as Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Madonna and Duchess of Windsor, Lady Gabriella Wilson, who married in Beccaria’s design on 18th May this year.
Closing the festival is Michael Cinco, one of high-fashion’s most famous designers, who presents his latest collection to the IFF audience. His couture designs, which draw inspiration from Hollywood’s classic women’s glamour, ooze impeccable elegance and sophistication as worn by icons such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. His collections have featured at Paris and New York fashion weeks and since worn by Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jason Derulo. Cinco was elected by the Asian High Fashion Federation to sit among its most elite members as one of the best designers in Asia.
Following the busy three-day affair is a series of exclusive afterparties hosting the fashion-loving crowd, VIP guests, international press and the festival’s key players. On Friday evening, an afterparty at the impressive PMYC pool venue is open to all in attendance, while the second evening takes the after-hours entertainment to the next level for an exclusive invitation-only afterparty for Porto Montenegro homeowners and other VIP and high-profile guests.
Regent Porto Montenegro, the exquisite five-star luxury hotel at the heart of Porto Montenegro’s super yacht marina, will be the main sponsor for this year’s International Fashion Festival Porto Montenegro. International press and the festival’s key players can expect arching colonnades and shaded terraces, an Italian garden with beautifully designed water features and a nautical theme throughout, connecting to the stunning surroundings of Boka Bay.
