Montenegro removes visa requirements for UAE citizens

There is good news for Emiratis looking abroad for a new luxury destination – the Montenegrin government has recently removed all visa requirements for UAE citizens. This means that Montenegro, one of the fastest growing destinations for elite tourism and a country that offers enticing investment opportunities, has never been easier to explore.

After opening a Montenegrin embassy in Abu Dhabi this past year, the Montenegrin government has focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries in the areas of tourism, transportation and investments. As confirmed by the embassy, early this year the Montenegrin government made a decision to abolish all visa requirements for UAE citizens and facilitate the traveling procedures for all travellers coming from the UAE.

Recently Montenegro and the region have been of particular interest to the UAE as a new tourism and investment destination. One of the main airline carriers, Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi, invested heavily in Air Serbia, the national airline. This opened up several new destinations and increased the frequency of flights from Abu Dhabi to Belgrade. As a result of Abu Dhabi - Belgrade flights operating on a daily basis, Montenegro and specifically Tivat (only a 40min direct flight from Belgrade) is seeing more and more tourists from the Emirates. Additionally, Fly Dubai, Dubai’s most popular low cost airline carrier, introduced a direct flight to Belgrade from Dubai which operates several times a week.
