Montenegro’s first authentic Latin restaurant features the cuisine of Mexico, Peru and Spain among other regional specialties. Delicious seafood, ceviche and aguachile, rotisserie chicken and meats are presented comida-style for sharing among friends and family. The food is complemented by a wide range of Iberian and South American wines, Latin specialty drinks including Mezcal and Tequila, Spanish rums, Pisco, Cachaça and Spanish vermouths.
Breakfasts are a treat at Barquero, with a short menu that includes Mexican sweet breads, avocado toast, spicy chilaquiles and egg dishes such as Huevos Rancheros and Huevos Divorciados. And in the afternoon, a range of tacos — with home-made, gluten-free corn tortillas — offer e terrific snack alongside a freshly-made margarita.
The warm and comfortable interior is decorated with artisanal crafts made by the indigenous people of Mexico. Guests who prefer to enjoy their time together outside, next to the sea, may choose from a selection of tables located along Porto Montenegro’s waterfront, or under a shaded garden pergola that offers both sea and mountain views.
