First Marina in Europe With Clean Marina Accreditation

Since Porto Montenegro’s inception we’ve always explored new ways to protect our beautiful location for generations to come.

It’s why we’re delighted to announce that Porto Montenegro is the first marina in Europe to receive Clean Marina accreditation from The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

Why This Matters

TYHA’s Clean Marina programme is designed to help marinas ensure their operations do not pollute coastal and inland waters.

Gaining accreditation is recognition of our team and tenants’ work in promoting sustainability across Porto Montenegro’s marina. This work has included:

– using sustainable products and preventing plastic pollution;

– effective blackwater capture and treatment;

– appropriate segregated and hazardous waste management;

– proper spill prevention and treatment;

– correct washdown capture and filtration, and drain interception.

Growing Our Sustainability Initiatives

As a newly accredited Clean Marina, we’ve renewed our commitment to:

  1. Continually strive to improve the sustainability of our operations to protect our oceans and waterways.
  2. Share sustainability best practice ideas with TYHA and other marinas.
  3. Collaborate with our customers, tenants and contractors to continually improve the sustainability of our marina site

Sustainability does not have an end destination and we’re always looking to listen, learn and improve. Receiving Clean Marina accreditation from TYHA is a very important step in our sustainability ‘journey’, and one we’re incredibly proud of.
