Montenegro is famous for being home to some of the oldest olive trees and for over two thousand years, people in the southwest coastal region of the country have produced some of the finest olive oils in the world.
Driven by a passion for tradition and excellence, olive oil production has been passed down from generation to generation and at Porto Montenegro we are passionate about preserving our olive trees and have rescued more than 30 old specimen olive trees from Stari Bar, to save them from being destroyed, and moved them to Porto Montenegro. Once Boka Place is complete they will be lovingly relocated and planted throughout the neighbourhood, supporting Porto Montenegro’s ‘Porto Home Grown’ initiative, where we harvest our olives and expertly blend them with other village trees. This unique olive fusion is then used in our very own ice cream, cocktails and signature Martinis, as well as fresh oranges which are grown locally, all of which can be enjoyed on the rooftop of our iconic Panorama restaurant or at our ultra-lounge & nightclub, Latitude 42, as part of the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club.
