How did Hublot watches become celebrity and fashion favorite?

Recently we obtained the opportunity to present you with a couple of luxury watch brands, and now we continue that row with another luxury darling – Hublot watches.

Hublot is a luxury watch brand that successfully epitomizes the art of fusion – what is that fusion about, you’ll find out down below, but nevertheless can be defined as brand that gracefully combined the art and tradition of horology and innovation.

Hublot is a Swiss company that operates since 1980., producing high-end luxury watches of the highest quality and a superb choice of materials. Hublot boasts with supreme awareness when it comes to their clients, continually exceeding expectations with more than exclusive and luxurious watches.

A company that, as of last year, we have a privilege to call our Official Timekeeper, and a company that perfectly encompasses our exclusive marina lifestyle community, presenting you with Hublot luxury watches, their company history and their iconic watch models.

Hublot history – Hublot luxury watches company beginings

Hublot watch history begins with creation of a Hublot gold watch with first natural black rubber bracelet, first of its’ kind in watchmaking history. This watch obtained a huge commercial success, and managed to become an inspiration for a watch making style but, not to mention it soon became one of the favorite and unmissable fashion accessories, alongside the world’s most luxurious high-fashion brands

All of this resulted with the Hublot company becoming famous all around the globe – marking the birth of the Hublot brand, whose name was inspired by the original Hublot watch with a distinctive “hublot” look – which is French for “porthole”.

Hublot history begins with its’ creator – Carlo Crocco, a visionary Italian who first acquired his sense of beauty as a child from a family of watchmakers. He designed his first watch in 1967., and in 1980., he set up he set up the Hublot company, launching the Hublot brand into the stratosphere.

Even though the Hublot company might be considered young in the Swiss watchmaking industry, Hublot luxury watches belong among the leading giants of the industry in the world, such as Rolex and Omega

The “art of fusion” – the guiding principle of the Hublot watch company

Hublot watch company resides on one single principle, dubbed as the “art of fusion”. This principle refers to skilful material combinations and clever collection concepts which continually delights the Hublot consumers, and is responsible for the company’s extraordinary success.

Hublot luxury watches are a mixture of unconventional designs, forged with absolute precision and quality, but what fusion of materials refers to?

Hublot brand image, strong and unmistakable as it is now, was marked with the launch of a watch that had a gold case paired with a black rubber bracelet – a combination that stirred the waters of the watchmaking world and caused a worldwide sensation.

What stems from the former is simple – gold plus rubber equals fusion.

The birth of a Hublot company trademark – rubber strap

As we already mentioned, the original gold-case watch with a rubber strap, was launched in 1980., and precisely that strap became one of the Hublot brand trademarks. The fusion of gold and rubber was an absolute novelty in the industry, mainly because up until that moment gold was never combined with casual materials.

Even though the rubber strap was one of the crucial elements that lead to the commercial success of the newly born Hublot company, a decisive step when it comes to marketing wasn’t obtained until the arrival of the Jean-Claude Biver, as the CEO of the company.

Jean-Claude Biver, a marketing genius, was the first to reflect on the Hublot history and emphasize the “Art of fusion” with the company’s future.

Hublot Swiss luxury watches and their skillful material combinations

Hublot brand, now based in the city Nyon in Switzerland, is a brand that managed to absolve the art of combining materials that seemingly do not go well together.

Apart from combining precious materials such as gold and platinum, Hublot luxury watches are made from elements such as titanium and zirconium, also handling high-tech alloys specially developed by the company.

For instance, Hublot brand developed Magic Gold – a fusion of pure gold and boron carbide, extremely hard ceramic and covalent material used in tank armour even! Another company-developed alloy is “Hublonium” – a metal alloy that contains magnesium and aluminium, among all else.

Groundbreaking innovation united with extravagant modernity

Hublot luxury watches primarily delight with their supreme quality of craft and undeniable accuracy, not to mention that they continuously manage to mesmerize with extravagance and modernity of design.

Design is mainly in-house, which means that Hublot brand mostly produces their own watch components. For example, Hublot Unico movement was the first chronograph movement to be entirely produced in-house by the brand. This calibre was then ready to be incorporated in the Hublot Big Bang and King Power lines.

After the initial success of the Hublot unico movement, the company was able to successfully manufacture a series of in-house movements, then used in Hublot Ferrari and slim Classico calibers.

Hublot watches – a favorite among world famous stars and athletes

From the founding of the Hublot brand, the Hublot watches have crafted an excellent reputation when it comes to the world of celebrities, among whom many acted as the brand ambassadors. Some of them are the greatest athletes of our time, such as fastest man on earth Usain Bolt, football superstars like Pelé and Diego Maradona, and basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

Hublot company is the first manufacturer of luxury watches that entered the world of football – a move that was regarded as more than bold, since today Hublot is the official watch of FIFA and integral part of the World Cup, thus making Hublot watches obvious to all the respectable football fans.
